Spectro cards series includes 75 photographs which are suitable for teaching purposes and for counseling and therapeutic use in individual and group sessions.

These associative Spectro cards captivate imagination, expose feelings and stimulate free interaction, and furthermore, promote storytelling. Each individual may participate in creating the photographic series and stories used in the session, or they might be created together in a group session following rules formed by the group.

Basically, there are no limitations or restrictions in using the Spectro cards, but it is essential that the instructor makes clear target and framing questions in the beginning of the counseling session. It is also essential to keep in mind that the evoked associations are subjective interpretations and therefore there is no “right or “wrong” interpretation or truth in these associations. The interpretations, individualism and privacy of the participants must always be respected.

Background of the Spectro cards

The Spectro cards belong to an associative, traditional, card type. The associative cards have their basis on, for example, the Tarot-cards and the Ching-cards, but differ from them in that the associative cards do not have interpretation boundaries.

There are no restrictive rules with the associative cards; they can be used alone or with somebody or in a group, points are not counted and there are no winners in this game. The aim of the associative cards is to produce a creative atmosphere, bring forth new perspectives and enable free observation.
